MAKING AN APPLICATION

Some licensing applications are straightforward and do not need the services of a licensing solicitor, but others require additional thought in order to be successful. In particular, Licensing Act applications can require significant technical input because they require applicants to specify what measures they will take to promote the licensing objectives. The enforcement agencies who receive a copy of the application will expect at least some degree of competency and awareness of the issues that will affect the granting of a licence.

We have considerable experience of making licence applications and can help by either completing the whole process or just reviewing your draft. For Licensing Act applications, the complete service means that we will

Prepare the application form according to your instructions and obtain your agreement before it is submitted

Submit the application to the Council and to each of the Responsible Authorities, where appropriate

Draft the site notice and the press notice of application if one is needed

Negotiate with any Responsible Authorities or Interested Parties if they raise issues of concern.

Attend a licensing hearing if one is required

Provide you with either the original of the licence if it is granted, or retain it for safe keeping and send you a certified copy for display.

We can also review applications that you have put together and advise on any amendments that might give a better prospect of sucess.

If you would like us to assist you, simply give us a call or send us an e-mail to contact you.
