Because law firms are ‘regulated businesses’ in a similar way to banks and accountants, we have to go through a process with you before we can start work.

Once you have advised us that you would like us to act for you, we will send you our terms of business letter that will set out the fee estimate and request certain items of identification.

Two identification documents are needed –

    • one with your photograph, such as a passport or driving licence
    • one with your address, such as a utility bill

Alternatively, if you have an accountant or solicitor that has known you for over two years, they can sign a certificate for us instead.

Should you not wish to send us originals, then it is possible for an accountant, bank or other solicitor to certify a copy and send it to us.
