The Licensing Act requires that “Theatrical Performances” only take place if a Temporary Event Notice<\/a> has been given or a Premises Licence<\/a> obtained from the local council. There are very severe penalities for holding a play without an authorisation – up to \u00a320,000 fine and\/or 6 months imprisonment at worst.<\/h3>\n

One test is to ask whether there is someone taking on a role where they pretend to be someone else – irrespective of whether there is a script or not.<\/p>\n
