APPLYING FOR A REVIEW

In order to be successful at a review, one of the keys is to have sufficient evidence. This can take many forms, including first-hand witnesses, crime records as well as a host of published information. A diary of occasions which shows how you are affected is normally worth its weight in gold, as is photographic or video evidence.

Part of the skill at being successful is also to present the evidence in the right way and to make it clear as to what you want out of the Review.

Having made an application, the matter will normally proceed to a hearing after a 28-day public consultation has taken place. The only exceptions are if the Council feels that it would be repetitious to consider the application, or if they consider that you are being frivolous or vexatious. At this meeting, you will be able to present your evidence that was submitted with the application for review.

We are able to make an application for review on your behalf and present the evidence to the Licensing Committee, ensuring that all of the correct formalities are complied with.

If you disagree with the decision of the Committee, you can still appeal to the magistrates court.
