Consultation on Alcohol Retailing
A consultation has been launched on the subject of responsible alcohol retailing.
The proposals are to introduce a mandatory code of practice that could mean :
a requirement to display alcohol unit content and health related information;
Significant penalties of up to £20,000 and/or 6 months in prison could arise from non-compliance with the code.
The Home Office ran a number of seminars on the consultation, which is now closed.
