CIVIL MARRIAGE LICENCE

With one of these licences in force, it is now possible to hold a marriage ceremony in locations other than churches and other religious building or registry offices.

The cost of a licence is typically £2,500 for a period of three years.

Before you can apply, it is important to ensure that you have the correct planning consent and risk assessments in place. Requirements vary slightly throughout the country, but broadly you will need to ensure that you can have the area ready to be used about 30 minutes before the ceremony and allocate parking spaces for the registrar. A responsible person will need to be present to deal with any issues that arise and you will only be able to use areas that have been designated on the licence plan.

We can assist by making the application on your behalf. for more information, please contact us.
